ESADE is a private Business School founded in 1958 in Barcelona (Spain) to spread general and applied management skills, to encourage a spirit of entrepreneur-ship, and to foster a sense of business ethics. ESADE’s goal is to prepare entrepreneurs and executives to create new firms and to run them according to sound economic principles, guided by a strong sense of social responsibility. In the course of 36 years, more than 15.000 men and women have passed through ESADE. The School has striven to instil in each of them a professional mentality as top-quality managers and to foster in them the habit of thoughtful reflection in a world where feverish activism seems to be considered a virtue and even the only accepted way of life. ESADE programs attract students from throughout Spain and abroad. The foreign student population, representing 30 different countries, currently accounts for an increasing percentage of graduate enrolments.
ESADE is housed in three buildings in the Pedralbes district, one of Barcelona’s most attractive residential areas. In addition, the School has a Madrid branch where executive programmes have been offered since 1980.

Now, in the last decade of this century, ESADE is preparing for a particularly challenging future in which international competitiveness will be essential to the survival not only of businesses and business managers, but of Business Schools themselves. With increasing emphasis on cross-cultural management skills, an internationally oriented curriculum and co-operation with European organisations and with management schools throughout the world, ESADE will continue to equip its students with the tools and knowledge necessary to successfully found businesses or to manage companies in either the public or private sector.

The G.E.M. NoE will contribute to improving transparency in the labour market, as well as encouraging students mobility and access to job markets. It promises to be a valuable tool for Companies wishing to hire managers and professionals from other EU Countries. As such, G.E.M. squarely fits with the mission, strategies, research interests and attitudes of ESADE.
